Hostcomm RVX lets a repairs desk see a reported hazard through the resident's phone within minutes, capture the evidence, and produce the written summary Awaab's Law requires — without waiting for a van. A text-message link on any smartphone. Nothing to install.

The clocks start when you become aware. The bottleneck isn't the repair — it's getting a qualified person to look, decide, and write it down. RVX moves that to day one.
The advisor texts a link while the resident is still on the phone. The resident taps it and the advisor sees what their camera sees. Live pointer, annotation, remote torch and zoom help them show the right thing. Photos, video and readings are captured to the case.
Day 1 · during the callCan't do it live? The resident follows a step-by-step guide alone: whole wall, close-up, window, extractor fan; is there a leak; how long; anyone with a respiratory condition. Yes/no answers branch, and each photo is checked as it's taken so dark or wrong-subject shots are retried.
Day 1–2 · at the resident's convenienceEverything lands on one session: timestamped photos, answers, readings, notes. A one-click PDF puts a plain-English summary of findings on the first page, followed by the evidence. That is the written summary — and the record of what was done and when, if the Ombudsman asks.
Same day · inside the 3-day windowRVX is built for the audit trail Awaab's Law now demands.
Every session, photo, answer and report stored against the case with who, what and when. Write to your own AWS or Azure storage if your data policy requires it.
No app, no account, no password. A text-message link that opens in the phone's browser. Chat translation for residents whose first language isn't English.
Build your own step-by-step workflows — mould survey, boiler pressure top-up, void inspection — or start from the library. Advisors follow the same steps every time.
Evidence writes back to Talkdesk cases and Simpro jobs. A signed webhook and REST API cover everything else — including starting a survey from an IVR or voice agent while the resident is on the line.
Eleven step types — photo, video, yes/no, choice, checklist, number, meter reading with OCR, signature and more — with branching so residents only see the steps that apply. A phone preview updates as you type. Or describe the task in a sentence and let RVX draft the steps.
The damp and mould starter template: 12 steps, branching on ventilation and leaks, previewed exactly as the resident will see it.
Ongo uses RVX to triage reports before an engineer is sent, with the live pointer and annotation tools doing most of the work on boilers and damp cases.
“Reduced time to fix issues, reduced call outs for initial assessments. It has helped identify damp and mould cases. Overall it has reduced costs to the business and helped reduce the amount of time our vehicles are on the road, therefore reducing our carbon footprint.”
Hostcomm RVX Remote Visual Assistance is on the UK Government Digital Marketplace — service ID 937599435266546 — at £40–£49 per user per month with a free trial. Housing associations, local authorities and ALMOs can call it off directly without a tender.
No. The advisor sends a text message containing a link. It opens in the phone's normal browser — Safari or Chrome — and asks permission to use the camera. Nothing is installed and no account is created.
The regulations require a landlord to investigate within the timescale and to provide a written summary; they do not prescribe an in-person visit for every case. A video triage with captured evidence lets you investigate quickly, decide which cases need a surveyor, and produce the written summary on time. For hazards that need a qualified assessment, RVX gets the surveyor there with the photos already on file. Confirm your approach with your compliance lead against the current government guidance.
Send a self-survey instead. The resident completes the steps on their phone at a time that suits them and you're notified when they submit. A deadline can be set so it shows on the invite.
In the UK, in AWS London, encrypted. Organisations that need to hold evidence in their own storage can connect their own AWS or Azure account and RVX writes there instead.
Natively with Talkdesk and Simpro. For other systems there is a REST API and a signed webhook that delivers each completed session with its answers and file references, which most housing platforms and integration tools (Make, Zapier, Power Automate) can consume.
Yes. Our voice agent, a Talkdesk Studio flow, or any IVR can call the RVX API to text a survey link to the caller while they're on the line — for example when a caller reports damp or mould.
Days. The console is web-based, agents need no training beyond a short walkthrough, and the starter library includes a damp and mould survey you can send on day one.
Bring a real damp report. We'll run the triage live, send you the written summary it produces, and show how it lands in your housing system.
