Hostcomm Launches Guide to On-Premise and Hosted Diallers

Leading Voice over IP (VoIP) provider Hostcomm has launched a new resource, “Diallers: On Premise Versus Hosted”.

The concise PDF guide puts hosted diallers and on-premise predictive dialler solutions head-to-head, helping businesses consider the best choice for their resources, technical capability, and budget.

“More and more people are moving towards cloud services and hosted telephony,” says Chris Key, Director at Hostcomm. “But it’s important that customers make the right decision based on their own organisations, not this recent trend alone. The problem is that it can be complex and time consuming to trawl through various sources of information, looking for strengths and weaknesses of each option. That’s why our guide boils everything down to a single sheet, considering six key criteria to help make the decision between hosted diallers or an on-premise dialler solution.”

Available to download now, the guide compares dialler costs, server costs, power supplies, scalability, the cost of outbound lines, and the cost of upgrades and maintenance. In all of these cases, a hosted predictive dialler is the more cost-effective option.

Meanwhile, hosted diallers come with some unique advantages outside of cost. For example, traffic profiles can be managed by a hosted services provider, easing the burden on an organisation and minimising the threat of a short-notice suspension.

Since a hosted dialler is managed by a team with specialist expertise, the right hosted dialler from the right provider could also be more reliable than an on-premise alternative.

Of course, there are instances where an on-premise dialler may be a more attractive option – particularly for organisations with in-house IT and telephony expertise, and a reliable existing infrastructure.

“If an organisation has the expertise – and the capital – to make it happen, an on-premise dialler can be useful,” says Key. “It’s largely an issue of control. While a hosted solution should be just as secure, some organisations prefer the governance you get with an on-premise dialler. You can take control over physical access and keep all your data on your local network. But for most businesses, a hosted solution comes out on top.”

One other consideration is the quality of your hosted dialler provider. A service provider’s network infrastructure will be a determining factor in the performance of your hosted service, and Key encourages customers to do their research.

“A hosted dialler can be an affordable solution that improves productivity and delivers real return on investment,” adds Key. “But not all hosted services are built alike. Once a business decides that hosted may be appropriate for their needs, it’s essential to compare different providers to find one that can deliver on the promise of hosted services.”
