Hostcomm has recently installed a new class 5 softswitch cluster into it's network to provide additional resilience and capacity. The softswitch aggregates Hostcomm's multiple carrier inter-connects into a single management plaform and will deliver the following benefits to our clients:
1. Automatic failover in the event of a carrier failure or outage.
2. Automatic alternative carrier retry in the event of a failed number dial.
3. Simplified client portal and recharge process.
4. Reduced call failures due to congestion.
We are already seeing an improvement in the successful call completiton rate. The softswitch has also miminised downtime by avoiding a recent outage by one of our main carriers.
Hostcomm will be implementing some additional modules soon to further improve the functionality.
