Believed to be the first in the UK of its kind the new high power predictive dialer is setting new records for performance and fault tolerance. Using the latest server technology which includes an AMD processor system (codenamed “Istanbul”) with 24 CPU cores, 32GB RAM and high speed multiple hot swappable hard drives, the new contact centre platform is raising the bar for simultaneous agents and lowering the price at the same time. Priced at just £800 per month for at least 50 agents, this reduces the price per agent to only £16 per month. Hostcomm believes the server is capable of handling more than 50 agents per month and is keen to test the limits to see what the new platform can do. The predictive dialer application itself is already capable of handling at least 300 agents but is restricted by the platform hardware. With multiple CPUs, hard drives, RAM boards and power supplies the new platform is also very fault tolerant. The weakest link in server technology tends to be anything with moving parts, like the hard drives. The new XL dialer has hot swappable hard drives which can be replaced with zero downtime.

Processor technology is moving very quickly and Hostcomm looks forward to further developments in the processor market including new processors with 48 CPU cores which should reduce the monthly price per agent to under £10.
